Who is up for the exciting challenge of teaching our Hawaiian Charter School youth Mana Maoli’s ‘ABC’s’ – Academics, Business, & Culture – through music and multimedia?

Mana Maoli is currently seeking 3 part time teachers on Oahu and Kaua’i for our Mana Mele Project: www.manamaoli.org/maolimusic

Oahu – Mana Mele Multimedia Instructor ($20/hr, 15hrs/wk, 50wks)

Hakipu’u Learning Center Public Charter School, Kaneohe HI

10hrs/wk instruction, 2hrs/wk prep, 3hrs/wk curriculum development

Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong background in video production, from pre to post-production.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience teaching/working with youth
  • Curriculum Development Background
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Have an understanding of project-based learning and culturally relevant teaching methods
  • Have basic knowledge of Hawaiian culture, values, and language.
  • Experience working with Native Hawaiian youth, organizations and/or communities.

Kaua’i – 2 Mana Mele Instructors ($25/hr, 4-8hrs/wk, 40wks)

1. Kula Aupuni Ni’ihau a Kehelelani Aloha (KANAKA) Public Charter School, Kekaha HI

2. Kawaikini Public Charter School, Lihue HI

Minimum qualifications:

  • Strong background in music

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience teaching/working with youth
  • Have a basic knowledge in Hawaiian mele and music composition.
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Have an understanding of project-based learning and culturally relevant teaching methods
  • Have basic knowledge of Hawaiian culture, values, and language.
  • Experience working with Native Hawaiian youth, organizations and/or communities.
