Mana Maoli is seeking a reliable and competent fiscal manager / bookkeeper who is flexible enough to also help with some administrative, event, and program support work as needed. We are a small non-profit so it’s important that we work with people that are willing to do what needs to be done, and that may mean anything from occasionally printing hand-outs before an important meeting, training interns on preparing check-mailing envelopes to leverage your time, or assisting us at a community event.
START DATE: Between 10/1/19 – 12/31/19
STARTING PAY: $19/hr, with incremental pay raises pending satisfactory performance.
WEEKLY HOURS PER WEEK: average 20 hrs/wk (can discuss possibilities if full-time is preferred)
SCHEDULE: Flexible – you have a great deal of control over your schedule. Whoever we select for this position will work from our office in Palolo twice a week on average, and has the option to work remote on other days. On “office” days, work hours should be scheduled during the daytime on weekdays. Evening/weekend/night hours in addition to daytime hours are game on “remote” days – pretty much whatever you prefer.
JOB DUTIES:
* Input expenses and deposits
* Create and track bills and invoices
* Reconcile accounts (bank, Paypal, petty cash, etc)
* Generate reports as needed, including for quarterly board meetings, grant reports and grant proposals
* Process check requests (print checks) 1-2x a week as needed
* Assist with tax, financial review, and audit preparations as needed
* Track financial agreements we make with partners, vendors, clients, etc
* Assist with budgeting
* Collecting, scanning, tracking, filing receipts
* Creating, refining, and/or enforcing policies related to fiscal management
* Inventory
* Database entry and management
* Assist with other organizational or programmatic duties as needed and able
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bookkeeping/accounting experience
* Desire to serve the Native Hawaiian population
* Reliable
* Honest
*Values efficiency & learning
* Flexible
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
* 4+ years bookkeeping/accounting experience
* Familiarity with QuickBooks Online
